Office lights need to be soft , well spread, not casting shadows, and at the same time a minimum of 500 lux at the working table for the comfot of eyes. The office galaries and all other non work spaces should have a lux level of 300, and must not be much lower. Another thing to be taken care of while choosing office light is the colour temprature anf the CRI. For modern offices, light with colour temprature of about 500 K and CRI of 95 would give a feel of working in subdued light as of morning Sun. Every thing would look, smooth, soft and clear and in true colours of Sun. However, offices on budget, should still choose cri of minimum 80 and colour temprature between 4000 and 5700 K. For the offices which can afford, cariable colour temprature lights where the CCT changes from 4000K back in evening K CCT( in morning hours to 5700 K (by noon) an then back to 4000 by night.
